Sharing His Guidance

Recently I’ve been doing a Bible Hymnal Journaling Challenge.  I was asked to share how He spoke to me while doing it since I did it differently than others.  I believe it may be of interest to some of you so I’m sharing the same here:

I approached this new hymnal mapping challenge the same way that I do with anything spiritual, leaving it in God’s hands and letting Him show me what to do with it.  I found out the first hymn we were going to use was “A Mighty Fortress is our God” and I instantaneously saw fort walls…the big grey brick walls.  I saw them nearly 24X7 after that (in my mind’s eye).  But nothing else came until after the information was put out on Monday to start the 5 week study.  I read all about it and perusing my FB groups.  I went to another Bible Journaling group (Bible Journaling for Beginners Community) and was just glancing through all of the Journaling art as I do daily when I saw the scripture posted:  Proverbs 18:4: “Wise words are like deep waters; wisdom flows from the wise like a bubbling brook.” And a time from 2013 came to mind when I kept having this song go through my mind and every so often I felt bubbles rising up within me. (I don’t know why I never investigated this further but I didn’t).  Then I thought of my new Inspire Proverbs coloring book that I had yet to do much in and didn’t know why…well, maybe this was it?  And to my surprise I saw Proverbs 18:10 “The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe.” Right within the same chapter along with the following illustrated journaling page on the same verse.  The rest is just what I saw in my mind’s eye as I spoke with Him and worked on it.  I kept seeing those fort walls and you will see how I incorporated them.  The envelope on the tip-in has the words to the song from 2013 “Everlasting God” as performed by Seventh Day Slumber along with all of the scriptures that we were given for this hymn, looked up and printed out.

Everlasting God lyrics
Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord
We will wait upon the Lord
We will wait upon the Lord
Our God, You reign forever
Our hope, our Strong Deliverer

You are the everlasting God
The everlasting God
You won’t grow weary
Our God, You reign forever
Our hope, our Strong Deliverer

You are the everlasting God
The everlasting God
You do not faint
You won’t grow weary
You’re the defender of the weak
You comfort those in need
You lift us up on wings like eagles

I had shared about my “His Strength” journal that I made from front to back.  Robin Mead has  instructions on her blog.  She is a Christian artist.  I have been collecting scriptures, stories, lyrics, quotes, etc… since I made it, on God’s Strength.  The words to the hymn and song will be put in this book, too.

By the time I did all of this I had also read all of the statistics regarding this hymn but could not remember them and God did not bring them to mind so I just figured this was it.

I believe all of this came together like this for God’s reminder to me that He not only gives us His Strength but He also provides His Protection, too.
