He is making perfect sense out of a perfectly senseless, messed up life!

I'm Inspired - God's Peace

I’m inspired!  God is so good!  I’m not awake even 5 minutes before He is touching my heart!  I’m sharing this today because I need to let you all know how He makes a way when I woke up not feeling well.  It was 5:30 or so the first time I woke up with an awful stomach ache.  I just tried to sleep some more knowing that I was getting up at 7:30.

John 14:27  " Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." is my favorite scripture.  It talks about peace in the midst.  He doesn’t promise everything to be perfect and a bed of roses but He does say that He will give us peace and be with us through it all.  My life is such a perfect example of this.  From prison to sickness, to more sickness and even more sickness, and spending much, much time alone with only Him to keep me company.

When I finally got up today I had a Bible Journaling page lying in my dining room table morning spot to finish that evoked so many memories.

And I shared that it evoked many memories in my Bible Journaling group and then I couldn’t hold back.  And I shared:

“Oh, I can’t help it...I’m a story teller I guess.  Not only did it make me think of growing up on a bike but also the last place we lived was called Christian Retreat in Bradenton.  I had a Purple trike (color of page) and I would ride in the early mornings in this circle by all these duplexes.  You can feel the presence of God in this place when you turn from the main road.  I would pray for the people as I rode past each home with all the gorgeous flowers and the sound of peacocks...I think of all the amazing memories from living in this awe-inspiring place!  I could go on and on...God is awesome!  It was like the $$ just fell from the sky to move there, too.  Totally God!  I may have to hang this in our computer room.”

Not long after all of this I was drawn to the flowers on our dining table.  I have been getting them several times a month for more than a year now and they are worth so much more to me than what I pay for them.  I delight in them.  In Ohio we had a ½ acre of gardens, a water garden, and I had 120 house plants.  (No exaggeration.)  But since I have been in Florida there has been a decline in my ability to care for plants and I have truly missed the flowers the most.  I look at them on and off all day long.  They inspire me.  They touch my heart.  They evoke memories, They are God’s glorious creation.  I don’t even know how to arrange them well but I decided that it really doesn’t matter if I just bask in them anyway!  They are just an amazing gift to my day, my life!  And I am writing this with my stomach still hurting but emotionally and spiritually I am free, complete, at peace, and full of love and sunshine!

I used to not like the color yellow until we moved to our Ohio house.  We had a screened back porch with skylights and yellow walls where the sun shined, the birds sang, and the squirrels played.  I collected metal sun plaques for the wall.  We moved before I could do all of the decorating that I wanted to there.

Since then, yellow has brought the idea of light to me and I love using it that way in my art and Bible journaling, too.
Bible Journaling page with yellow as light.

When we went for flowers at Trader Joe’s in St. Petersburg on Saturday this was tour first truly sunshiny day in a couple of weeks being the rainy season in Florida.  The first flowers I noticed were the Gerber Daisies and  I snatched up a cluster of them, then the spray roses (a favorite of mine).  We are so blessed to have such beautiful flowers available to us as such a good price.  And then I had to add the purple, of course.  Whoever purchases the flowers for Trader Joe’s knows what they are doing.  I’d rather go there than any place else in the area.  Oh, I’ve gotten bouquets in other places that were lovely occasionally but Trader Joe’s is the most consistent and inexpensive.

Can you see God’s handiwork here?

BE STILL AND KNOW - Psalm 46:10

Please forgive me for taking so much time "running" between these posts!

I am always learning, thank the Lord!  He never fails me!  He wants to spend time with me.

An excellent book to read, and it's free at this website: Good Morning Holy Spirit by Benny Hinn  If you need something to read it on try Kindle or iBooks.  Learn to know the person of the Holy Spirit.  This book was more confirmation to me since He drew me to Himself in 1988 when I was crumbling, yet it did give me some new insight and since this I got a clue, too!

A couple of days ago we had a flat tire in my car.  This was right at a time when we were lower in funds.  First, one might think that something is wrong because He has not made provision for my tire and there are all of these things that I need to be doing.  But, for some reason I didn't see it that way.  I had a peace about it.  I also was on the 7th day of a lingering cold with an awful sounding cough.  This made me think that maybe I was supposed to slow down, lay low, and let God's healing catch up with me.  After talking to my husband and figuring out that on the next payday I could get a new tire and the car wash was close by (that it needed so badly) so I would also be able to get my car cleaned up, I felt fully satisfied.  As I cancelled nearly everything I was in an amazing state of peace!

After a couple of days at home, TV off, worship music on, getting things done but moving slowly and resting in His peace I awoke this morning to waging warfare against Satan, telling him where he could go (back to hell where he belongs in Jesus' name) and beginning to feel much better physically, with a wonderful "knowing" in my heart.   He just wants to spend time with me.  How many of us miss out on so many blessings because we won't just be still and know that He is God?

*2 Corinthians 11:2a  "For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy."

He had moved me earlier this year to giving away most of my artwork amd cleaning out our house, so I could spend time learning to rest in Him and finding more of His peace and I'd taken His wisdom that I was learning to move back out into life, ministry, and more of this world and ran with it like a chicken with its head cut off!  Wanting more is good if it moves you to prayer and keeps you wanting more of Him but slow down and:

*Psalm 27:14 "Wait on the Lord. Be of good courage. And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!"

AND there's that word Strength again.  I'm learning through my writing once again. Waiting on Him will give us strength?  Hallelujah!  There's another one for my "His Strength" art journal!

The song that I awoke to going through my head was My Redeemer Lives as sung by Nicole C. Mullen

Sometimes we just need to slow down:

Psalm 46:10a "Be still, and know that I am God;"  Listen to the words...great video, too!

An old faithful song that the Holy Spirit has used so prophetically in my life over the years has kept coming to mind, also, and it fits:

Enjoy!

REWARDS FOR BEING DILIGENT?

*Hebrews 11:6 "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."

I rededicated my life to the Lord in 1988, nearly 27 years ago. I am not telling you this because I think it is a short or a long time. For you or anyone else it might be 2 years or 37 but for me it has been nearly 27 years. I know I have never been perfect nor will I be until I am in heaven with my new, heavenly body within the presence of Jesus but I do know that that I have diligently sought Him. I was so done with that past life that I would not be here if it were not for Him. I did not want to look anywhere else. I prayed for Him to help to keep me from slipping; to help me keep from back sliding. Yes, there were many pleasures but there were far more detriments, painful events, heartbreaks, abuses, and I could make a list of the many negatives that remained a part of my life for 28 years but I do not long to go there. I did long to run to Him! I did not do as Lot did, I did not look back!

Even though my life has been a whole lot of work since, He has been with me helping me, guiding me all along! His way is perfect…far better than my way!

*Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

This year we have felt notably blessed! We felt like we were living in a life of trials and hardships for literally years! And, I am not saying that to be ungrateful, just honest! Sickness has been my friend (not the best friend to have). And I have learned greatly. In those first few years after I rededicated my life to the Lord it was a huge dark cloud that I felt like I walked out from under, no, I usually reference it to Jesus pulling me out of the bottomless pit and watching so many of my friends keep falling (thankfully now, many of them know Jesus, too. Sadly it wasn’t long before 2 were claimed by suicide (including my closest girlfriend) along with others losing their lives and yet others are still falling yet now have brain damage and other maladies). I have so much to be thankful for that I LET JESUS pull me out when I did!

*James 1:2-8 “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.”

So we are still counting it all joy that it’s been nearly 27 years since I was “falling”. Oh, the lessons we’ve learned, OH MY! BUT I NEVER EXPECTED THIS! (Remember? ‘He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.’) 2015 has been my best year for my mental state since I was at least in grade school, maybe earlier, and I’m 55. I have had no depression this year at all! I praise and thank Him with really no words to fully express how joyful this makes me! I live a life feeling like I’m walking in a dream most days! I believe He has promised me to have more peace. I started working on the journal mentioned in my last post the beginning of this year on HIS Strength and He has certainly given it over and over!

I was sharing with a friend who I hadn’t seen in some time about what God was doing in my life this year and I know His anointing just came over me because I started talking about something that was not even on my mind. I went back to memories from 1995 when I had a 10 hour spine surgery. When I was fully awake from it in my room (several days later) I looked down and saw finger shaped bruises all down my arms. I started crying, wondering what had happened to me (still under morphine). Then I vaguely remembered waking up in pain in the recovery room. I was told that I’d woken up before they had the morphine pump hooked up to me. I vaguely remembered waking up in pain, getting mad and raising up off the bed. I was always told that I was a fighter. Not mean yet a survivor! And while I was telling the lady this whole story I heard in that still small voice that it would be NO MORE. God said that it was over! No more fighting because of someone else putting me in pain!

It is finally over. And His peace is with me 24 X 7. Even to the point lately that I’ve woken up several times with a sweet presence of His Holy Spirit filling my bedroom to the point of it feeling even tangible as if I had been sleeping in clouds…with this sweet song playing in my head.

Now, I don’t think this means that I will never have any trials, pain, etc… ever again. I actually believe that this is a precursor to Him using me in the future yet He is now showing me where to find refuge!

*Psalm 17:8 “Keep me as the apple of Your eye;
Hide me under the shadow of Your wings,”

*Psalm 91:4 “He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler”

*Psalm 61:4”I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah”

*Psalm 63:7”Because You have been my help, Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice.”

*Psalm 57:1 “Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me!
For my soul trusts in You; And in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge, Until these calamities have passed by.”

AND, MY FAVORITE SCRIPTURE SINCE NOT LONG AFTER I REDEDICATED MY LIFE TO THE LORD, BECAUSE I KNEW NO PEACE UNTIL I FOUND HIM!

*John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

AND, EVEN BETTER IN THE MESSAGE VERSION:

*John 14:26-27 The Message (MSG) “I’m telling you these things while I’m still living with you. The Friend, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send at my request, will make everything plain to you. He will remind you of all the things I have told you. I’m leaving you well and whole. That’s my parting gift to you. Peace. I don’t leave you the way you’re used to being left—feeling abandoned, bereft. So don’t be upset. Don’t be distraught.”

Now, this does not mean that all of this will happen the same to you.  But, it does mean that He gives you whatever you need!

*Philippians 4:19 "And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

I continue to get stronger. I have given away most of my art supplies and will be specializing in Mixed Media Encaustics (I did keep a bit back for gifts, household repairs, etc...) With God’s help I am getting out more and getting more exercise. I’ve gone from almost always having to use an electric cart to actually walking a little on the blacktop, which I’ve only been able to do very little of for 14 years. Many new-to-me things are happening lately. I am spending hours upon hours alone with Him in study, relaxation, strengthening, and worship! I have enough faith for ‘one day at a time’! And I am watching and waiting for what He has next for me!

SOAKING

No matter what I do this morning I just can’t seem to get rid of the idea of writing about this subject that came to me a couple of hours ago.  So, here I am sharing my views on this and the fact that I do soak now and then for a few minutes up to even 30 minutes or longer.  What’s the reason(s) that I do it?  To spend quality time with God, to surrender to the Holy Spirit, to stop and focus on the right things, to stop and “smell the roses”, to just say “woe”, etc… I started to list them and then realized there are numerous reasons and why not?  I mean, He is God and spending quality time with Him can definitely be no less than beneficial.

How do I do this?  Well, I’m normally in my desk chair in my computer room/studio so I sit back and relax, arms on the rests, palms facing upward and I listen to some good Christian music such as, to suggest just a few:

          Not Alone              Red
          Holy                      Matt Gilman
          Our Great God       Todd Agnew
          Baptize My Heart   Misty Edwards

And there are many, many other awesome songs to soak to, or you might even do a search at www.google.com for the word “soaking” and do some of your own research.  This has been very beneficial to me in my growth as a Christian.

One of my favorites that I have found quite beneficial to my own health and well being is Light of Your Face by Misty Edwards.  :

The Holy Spirit

Heavenly Father, give me the grace to write this blog entry this morning.  I’m sleepy and mindless.  Please be my memory, Lord!  In Jesus’ name, Amen
Last night I dreamed and dreamed.  I awoke several times in the midst of memories.  Yesterday in church one of my closest girlfriends/sisters received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.  She’d hoped and prayed for this overflowing, indwelling of the Holy Spirit for years and had been so very disappointed each time she was prayed for and didn’t receive.  Yesterday the first thing she said to me after was how amazing He was when you get out of your own way (in so many words).  Yep, she was so right!  And my memory recalled that time in my life, now 23 years ago, and I realized how I’ve slighted God in my past writings.  I’ve been such a witness to the power of the Holy Spirit, even giving such recall of His work in my life without sharing one of the most important things…the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Why should we want this?  In God’s Word we are told to be filled with the Holy Spirit:  *Ephesians 5:18 “And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,”
I believe that I heard the best explanation from a brother at my church a few years back that sounded just right.  It’s like instead of just having the Holy Spirit, you have the Holy Spirit on steroids!  This is where an amazing, overflowing amount of God’s power comes from.  This is where God’s amazing peace; His peace that passes understanding.  This is how God showed me about the hole inside that people (including me) ran around trying to fill up with booze, drugs, and all kinds of things.  We were all trying to find that comfort and that absolute peaceful companionship that only the Holy Spirit will bring.
*Romans 14:17 “for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”

*Romans 15:13 “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
*John 14:15-18 “If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.  I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

*John 14:25-27 “These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
I wrestled in my sleep and this morning with the right way to share this with you all due to the fact that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is not accepted in all of the denominations of faith.  But, the denominations are people made not God made.  Just because one doesn’t believe, doesn’t mean it isn’t true.  I know people mostly disbelieve out of fear.  But fear is not of God.  I’ve shared with you before:
*2 Timothy 1:7 “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

When I rededicated my life to the Lord in 1988 I knew the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is what I longed for.  Even though I’d been raised in a Baptist church until 1968 and then on to an Episcopalian church throughout my school years, I remembered my mother praying in tongues since I was a small child.  My folks had Bible studies in our home during the 1960’s.  They were involved in the healing ministry (Order of St. Luke) during the outpouring of the Holy Spirit during these years.  I heard of the miraculous healings done at Kathryn Kuhlman crusades (https://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=Kathryn%20kuhlman).  I’d had a healing myself, of my kidneys in 1968.  If you’d like to learn more of my background there is a short version in my book which can be purchased at:

or there is also more by looking into this blog’s archives.

I truly believed that a good Christian was to desire the Holy Spirit and the spiritual gifts of God. http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Corinthians+14&version=NKJV

I could write more and more on the subject but that would make this blog entry into more of a book chapter.  I would suggest that you pray and read what God shows you.  Most importantly, I consumed the shorter but jam packed with info, books by Kenneth E. Hagin:  http://www.rhema.org/store/authors/kenneth-e-hagin.html?author=9
Please forgive my memory if I forget to mention something (be sure to contact me at the e-mail address below if you have questions).  I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit on the top bunk in the prison cell that I was in, January of 1989.  At the time it didn’t seem like the most appropriate place but it was the only place that I had at the time and I wanted more of God.  I remember lying there, praying (which is just talking to God) and telling Him how I desired more of Him.  How I’d heard of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and how I wanted all of the gifts that He was willing to give me.  How, by definition these gifts were freely given.  How I knew that this was what I was supposed to do.  Along with how much I loved Him and walking daily with Him.  I went on and on for some time, I’m sure.  During this time, all of a sudden I felt a wonderful, warm, non-painful, power as if it was a bolt of electricity shooting from my head to my feet that felt like it nearly raised me from my bunk.  I whispered in a tongue unknown to me due to my roommate being on the bottom bunk.
I went on to praying this way as I believe God was leading.  I remember having doubts that I was honestly praying in tongues but I read more and have been reassured to this day of the truth in all of this.  My walk with the Lord grew more and more and has been expressed in many of my writings in this blog.  His peace has been multiplied to the point of many nearly drunken (in the Holy Spirit) writing sessions.  This is where I learned of who I lacked during my drunken/doped up days.  There is no negativity as in those old, bad acid trips or when I’d go fully overboard with the booze and drugs.  And, I can attest to the fact that God shared in His word that He would never leave me nor forsake me.
*Deuteronomy 31:8 “And the LORD, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”
I can honestly admit that I have not felt lonely even one day since that day, 23 years ago.

Three Crosses and a Dove - 2010

A few weeks ago a major miracle in my life from a long, long time ago came to mind that I had not shared with most of my friends since. I was a bit shocked that I’d neglected this so I prayed for God’s reminder through His Holy Spirit. I even asked for Him to give me something to help me remember. (One residual side effect from the CNS Vasculitis is memory loss so I’ve learned to pray for God to be my memory. Trusting in that is how I get by! I have to rest in the idea that if I don’t remember, that God is taking care of it.)

Just a couple of weeks later, I stopped by a Christian bookstore and there sat my reminder in the clearance section. It wasn’t exact. I would have to use some of my creativity to make it work but it was inexpensive (right up my alley). For $5.00 I took it home and began my look for what I needed to make it work. I found one other part on E-Bay for 99 cents (actually paid nothing due to an E-Bay coupon for more than a dollar). And, I already had some sterling silver wire and a cord to hang it from.

This memory is of a time before I fully understood what an awesome relationship I could have with my creator. It was during an extremely rocky time in my life. It happened before I knew His peace; John 14:27 is my favorite Bible verse “Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” *After my arrest in 1988 and eventual rededication of my life to the Lord, my co-conspirator and I were out for a drive. He had rededicated his life, also. We spent many of our days together to follow (before prison) in God’s word or riding around, listening to Christian music. This time I remember listening to Petra’s song “Not of This World”. And, we looked up into the sky and saw just as clear as the nose on my face, three crosses and a dove in the clouds. We fully believed that it was God’s promise to us of His peace. Please see the photo below of my new reminder that I now keep hanging from my rear-view mirror. (Yesterday, I took a mini-break at the Sunshine Skyway’s rest area and noticed that I couldn’t find a more perfect place to take a photo for this writing.)

God has brought me to Florida (James 1:17 “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.”) and given me so much of His peace that I can get through my days so much easier. Life isn’t perfect, of course. God gives me His peace. I once shared with my 87 year old mother who is in a nursing home that I could be sitting in a pile of dung, still praising the Lord, because of HIS PEACE. This world gives NO PEACE! And, He gave me a loving reminder of this and I’m sharing it with you!

I would like to share that if any of you ever have any questions, want to share something, or would just like to have someone to chat with, please don’t hesitate to message me! If you have a question that I can’t answer, I’ll find the answer for you! I welcome any and all inquires! If one of my blog posts particularly touches, please comment to me – I can use the encouragement…I can always use encouragement. Even though my faith is strong, I am still merely a human who has been given a gift in writing.

God bless you all!

My Theme Song - My Life - 2010

Yesterday morning, I went out to run a few errands. I was listening to the CD by Red, "End of Silence" and just totally involved in enjoying the beautiful day. I've had this album for three years, but it remains to be my favorite album because so many of the words are so deep into my exact feelings about the Lord and the ethereal music helps me to transcend this worldly place. Red has a second album but it does not reach into me like this first one has. I heard my favorite, my very favorite song once again, Lost. And, I realized that it's like a painting in words to me. It portrays how I see my life now. It shares how I am only able to belong in this lunatic of a world - because I stay lost in Him so much of my time. Without Him, I believe I'd be no longer useful in this world. Only through Him can I live, and move, and have my being! And, it's not a bad way to be! I may have been disabled by the world, but He has enabled me to dream, to create, to love and to live!

This video I'm sharing includes the lyrics. The style of this song is rock with hints of classical music. It does have some heavier moments which you may want to lower your speakers for. But, it's my hopes that you will listen and read the lyrics and know how I find peace, in Him!

If you want a different life, you need to pursue God with all that is within you! I don't even recognize my life as compared to the 80's.
2 Timothy 2:22 "Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart."
